PRESS RELEASE 2-14-12
The Center for the Women of New York is pleased to announce that the project to restore its new home at 207 Totten Avenue at Fort Totten, Bayside, Queens, received unanimous approval by the Community Board 7 at its February 13th, 2012 meeting.

With this approval, the project has to receive Historical and Landmarks approval and then go on to the formal steps of release of funds from state and city agencies for bidding to begin.  It is projected that this can be accomplished within the next few months and the project will be on its way to becoming finalized.

When completed, the building will be the only full service women’s center devoted to women’s rights and equal opportunity between the metropolitan area and Seneca Falls, New York!  The new home at Ft Totten will be used as a Women’s History, Conference and Career Education Center and is expected to be a rich resource for the entire community.
