The Office of the Queens Borough President is co-sponsoring the Guyanese Girls Rock Foundation Young Women’s Leadership Academy Virtual Conference on Saturday, June 26 from 10AM to 6PM. This is a free leadership and personal growth conference open to ALL high school age girls. The registration link and breakdown of sessions could be found here. The conference will cover topics of self-care and mental health, leadership, WOC in politics and more.
CWNY is proud to once again offer our support group for women in crisis. To register, send an email to [email protected] and write “Women in Crisis Support Group” in the subject line and your name, zip code and telephone number in the body of the email. You will be provided with instructions on how to dial in to the weekly support group.
The Women in Crisis Support Group is facilitated by licensed social workers. For the time being, the support group will meet by phone:
- Support Group Mondays 1-2 pm in partnership with Queensboro Council for Social Welfare
- Support Group Thursdays 7-8 pm with a bilingual Spanish-English social worker
- Individual Counseling Sessions by appointment with a bilingual Spanish-English social worker
When health regulations allow, the group will also meet in person at Queens Borough Hall, Kew Gardens and at Fort Totten Park, Bayside.
