Thursday, September 26th @ 10 – 11:30 AM: “Autumnal Equinox” – The reason for the seasons. Why do leaves change colors and its significance to the gardener.
Thursday, October 3rd @ 10 – 11:30 AM: “Garden Tasks for October/Fall” – From raking, weeding to harvesting there’s plenty to do in the garden.
Thursday, October 10th @ 10 – 11:30 AM: “Garlic Planting and other bulbs” – It’s the time of the year to plant the various varieties of garlic, from soft neck to hard neck for our planting zone.
***Saturday, October 12th @ 9 AM – 12 PM: “It’s My Park Day at CWNY: Daffodil Planting” – Come and help the women’s center to plant over 500 Daffodil bulbs while we perform a fall cleanup to beautify the grounds. Raking, weeding, planting will be a few fall tasks. Refreshments & pizza provided.

Thursday, October 17th @ 10 – 11:30 AM: “Root Vegetables” – What are they and how do they grow in the cooler months?
Thursday, October 24th @ 10 – 11:30 AM: “Plantings for our Native pollinators” – Fall is the perfect time for planting shrubs, perennials that will feed the pollinators for the next seasons.
***Saturday, October 26th @ 9 AM – 2 PM: “Eagle Scout Project” – Come take part in creating a pollinator pathway/garden at the women’s center. You will take part in planting shrubs, plants and perennials to feed the native birds and insects that use our greenspace. You will also help beautify CWNY!
Thursday, October 31st @ 10 – 11:30 AM: “Plants we should be afraid of and Very Afraid of!” – From Hog weeds to hemlock to deadly nightshade we will discuss the dark side of plants. Happy Halloween!
