CWNY – Workforce Development Facilitator Job Description

The Center for the Women of New York (CWNY) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the equality, advancement, and well-being of women. The mission of CWNY is to support and advocate for women who face financial, housing, food insecurity, health, violence, social, emotional, or legal problems by understanding their needs and connecting them with the CWNY services and city resources they need to overcome their challenges.
Job Summary:
The Workforce Development Consultant is responsible for developing and implementing a workforce development program to provide women with skills and training necessary to enter and reenter the workforce, to connect them with employers, and to provide resources that will address the obstacles that prevent them from getting and keeping jobs that will make them financially independent.
The consultant is also responsible for facilitating workshops and classes under CWNY’s EmployHer program, including, but not limited to the Career Skills Workshop series, Career Counseling, Career Training, Workforce referrals, and Job Fairs.
Key Responsibilities:
● Analyze existing job-training programs, workshops, and learning materials related to career readiness for the region’s most in-demand jobs, as identified by the New York Department of Labor
● Design and create a CWNY comprehensive workforce development program that provides career-skills training, social-emotional support for participants, access to job openings, and networking opportunities
● Facilitate training, career counseling sessions, workshops, and seminars
● Working with the CWNY team, implement the workforce development program based on participants’ goals, job skills gaps, and training needs
● Determine how CWNY can best match participants with job opportunities
● Monitor the effectiveness of training programs and make adjustments as necessary
● Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses on program metrics for grant-reporting purposes
● Other duties as assigned
Skills and qualifications:
● Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
● Experience with planning, developing, and implementing training courses
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
● Proficiency in Google Workspace software, including Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Sheets, or in equivalent Microsoft Office software
Location: Hybrid
Hours: 20/week
Compensation: $30-$40 per hour

CWNY – Social Worker Job Description

The Center for the Women of New York (CWNY) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the equality, advancement, and well-being of women. CWNY’s mission is to support, and advocate for women who face financial, housing, food insecurity, health, violence, social, emotional, or legal problems by understanding their needs and connecting them with CWNY services and city resources they need to overcome their challenges. We seek a Social Worker with a deep understanding of and commitment to public interest to provide critical social support services to women in our community.
Overview of the Role:
The Social Worker will develop a program to provide services in connection with CWNY’s EmpowHer program. The Social Worker will be an integral part of an interdisciplinary team which works closely together to address social, personal, employment, and legal challenges that women in crisis face. The Social Worker will also supervise CWNY interns and volunteers.
Primary Duties:
● Develop a program to provide integrated services such as referrals for housing, wellness, education, and employment programs and resources
● Train and supervise volunteers and, if Seminar Training In Field Instruction (SIFI)-certified, act as a field supervisor of volunteers who are assigned to mentor and support CWNY participants
● Work with CWNY’s partners to maintain a current database of resources
● Perform intake assessments of incoming participants
● Attend meetings as required
● Keep records and progress on participants using CWNY referrals and case management software
● Other duties as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications:
● LMSW
● Experience in program development
● Experience providing supervision
● Experience working with adult clients
● Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
● Ability to work within a team and motivate and mentor others

Compensation: $35-$40 per hour

CWNY – Outreach and Marketing Coordinator Job Description

The Center for the Women of New York (CWNY) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the equality, advancement, and well-being of women. The mission of CWNY is to support and advocate for women who face financial, housing, food insecurity, health, violence, social, emotional, or legal problems by understanding their needs and connecting them with the CWNY services and city esources they need to overcome their challenges. We seek an Outreach and Marketing Coordinator who can maintain a consistent presence in the community for the purpose of cultivating, managing, and sustaining relationships with partners and supporters, as well as reaching potential participants who can benefit from our programs, and sharing our mission.
Job Summary:
The Outreach and Marketing Coordinator is responsible for supporting the development and execution of marketing strategies, community outreach programs, and promotional activities. This position involves a blend of traditional marketing, digital campaigns, event planning, and relationship-building with external partners and participants to enhance brand visibility and drive engagement
Key Responsibilities:
● Develop and manage outreach programs to engage community groups, organizations, program participants, and stakeholders
● Create marketing and outreach content for newsletters, social media platforms, email templates, press releases, promotional materials, and website based on trends and customer needs
● Promote programs and events through various channels, including social media, email, and partnerships
● Collaborate with partners and vendors to ensure event and program promotional materials are properly handled
● Track the effectiveness of outreach and marketing campaigns
● Provide regular reports on campaign performance and suggest areas for improvement
● Ensure all marketing communications are consistent with the organization’s mission, vision, and voice
● Collaborate with internal teams to ensure messaging is consistent across all channels.
● Other duties as assigned
Skills and qualifications:
● Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
● Minimum of 2 years experience in marketing, outreach, or public relations
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
● Experience with content creation, editing, proofreading, social media platforms, digital marketing tools, and basic graphic design tools
● Strong organizational and project management skills
Location: Hybrid
Hours: 8/week
Compensation: $25-$35 per hour
